Temhar Bhrugh Nuadhat
|
Brugh Nuadha(t) knoll, crowned with collapsed tombs, at Turoe's apex (above). Archaic texts refer to Turoe as Temhar Bhrugh Nuadha(t) (Welsh Nudd, corrupt 'Niat') & Turoit de Fear-aibh Bolg. To buttress the Tara/Patrick myth, pseudo history reworked the Tuatha De/Nuadha lore, superimposing it in a strained chronology on a hostile Cruthin-held Tara/Boyne region where Fir Belg gods would have been personae-non-grata prior to the final defeat of the Cruthin by Ui Neill warlords at Moira in 637.
