Commius' (Gan's) British Belgic Oppidum
Celtic SE England ruled by Commius (Gann, top). Chichester oppidum (lower), the last to fall as Commius' Belgic followers fled to Ireland. Belgic capitals, surrounded by linear embankments, were called 'oppida' (oppidum) by Caesar.
